  Johnson & Wilcock

  RMS Royal Edward

Welcome

This is something that started off in quite a small way. However, as most people who start tracing their roots soon find out, there is nothing small about families.

Our family history stretches nearly the length of the British Isles, from Cornwall in the South West to Aberdeen on the East coast of Scotland. The majority of our early ancestors were agricultural labourers, a few worked small farms, others were miners, smelters, blacksmiths and harness makers. During the industrial revolution many of our families moved to larger towns as the countryside began to employ less people and the industrial manufacturing towns began to expand.

I would not have been able to research our family tree without the constant help of my mother, Joan Wilcock, who although now well into her 80's has provided me with names, dates & places which have been invaluable in trying to piece together the many branches of the family. Thanks Mum !
I would also like to thank all members of our family (past & present) who have contributed so much information and have helped expand this Family Tree.
